This blog was never meant to talk about my personal thought or my own learnings. But, sometimes, it is fine to tweak your plans and write what you feel like. May be somewhere, someone is encountering the similar issues and find solace in what I have written. It is equally possible for someone to not at all be interested about my learnings and take it as just another read.

So, in any situation, if you are reading it, bear me with till end this one.

Travelling with a toddler is equal to watching a horror film at 2 am —

Well, there are positive and negative of having children. But, kids espcially in toddler phase will keep you on toes. I travelled around 3–4 times with my child and it was nothing but horror for me.

We were exhausted at end and felt why we even thought of coming here. More than travelling fun, it was a thing to keep her safe. The only time we actually relaxed and enjoyed is when my toddler was sleeping. So, incase if you are thinking to travel with your toddler, better be prepared for the worst.

If possible, never plan for long distance trips. Use personal/ booked cars rather than opting for public transportation. If you ask me, I am not going to travel with my child for a longer distance in 2024 (unless necessary). Honestly, I can’t think of travelling with her in public transportation.

Plan never works, Strategy does —

I remember reading about this in one of my recent MBA lectures. And, how I felt so connected with this sentence. My plans have flopped for infinite times. But strategy has worked for me really well.

I used to plan my day, schedule child meal times, try my best to keep everything in pace but I failed repeatedly. However, when I switched my plan to strategy I was successful. Just to give some insights, I wanted to wake up everyday by 5 am. Well, I login at 5:30 am right now. I wanted atleast half an hour for quick water, tea and some yoga. But it was not happening at all. I used to wakeup at 5:25 to login at 5:30

So, what I did? I switched off my wifi for night. So, there are no messages. I kept my phone little away which made me awake once alarm rings. Once, I am out of bed, there is just one thing to do. I don’t have to go back. So, plan was to wake up at 5 am and this strategy helped me in making my plan successful.

I want to carry my strategy building in 2024.

Starting Good habits

You can’t expect things to turn just better for you in one go. So, today’s preparation can definitely be helpful tomorrow. Things like upskilling, studying, working mindfully and improving myself, meditation has all helped me to be better as a person and feel confident.

I will carry off my good habits to 2024 as well.

Sacrifice on certain things

Honestly, we can’t have it all. I mean I wanted to be good professional, a great wife and dotting mother at same time. I want to provide timely meals to my family. I equally want to sustain my relationships and be in touch with people. I also want to be in self care and self help.

But, I will not be able to have everything. So, I started sacrificing on certain aspects to make a healthy balance, taking my husbands support in almost everything. I am on a mode “This shall also pass”.

So, if I want to keep my child safe (all dangerous thing a toddler can do) and want her to not to have screen time at same time. I am wrong. I need to priortise and deprioritise things for balanced approach and not being guilty about it.

Conclusion

Do you resonate with anything ? Comment below. And what you want to carry forward in 2024. Hoping a blessed year for everyone who is reading it
